DAYLESFORD FIRE BRIGADE'S MEDIUM RESCUE TRUCK

The Daylesford Fire Brigade was accredited as a Road Rescue Brigade in 1985. The brigade has to be re-accredited on a regular basis and there is a requirement for a minimum number of accredited voluteers.

Commissioned in December 2015 the Rescue vehicle has the latest equipment available to assist in an incident, whether it be extricating persons from a motor vehicle accident, industrial accidents or even car lockouts.

The rear of the truck opens to access the hydraulic gear as seen below and both sides have custom built lockers to store tools, safety equipment and first aid requirements

The hydraulic gear (Jaws of Life) and and all electrical power is operated by a Power Take Off from the truck's 7 litre diesel motor. A spare petrol operated hydaulic pump and generator are carried as back -up.
